Boettcher Team Wins 2009
Australian Speedway Title
After
winning last years title, the Ian Boettcher Racing Team has won their
second
Australian Supersedan Title.
Supersedans
are based on NASCAR type V8 cars and race in every state in Australia.
With over 700hp and competing on a 1/4 mile oval dirt track, these sedans
are the pinnacle of dirt track sedan racing in Australia.
With long
time driver Darren Kane, the team competed against over 70 drivers from around
Australia in Lismore in NSW on the weekend of 21/22 February. Kane lead
for most of the race and was a deserved winner.
Ian
Boettcher has been contesting this title since the 1970's and the Title
has been his most elusive to date. The winning car was a CAD designed
Dominator Brand Mazda RX 8, hand
built in Ian's Race Car fabrication facility in Bundamba at Ipswich. The
chassis was designed by Ian's grandson, Brenton and build by Family and
Staff members.
Said
Ian Boettcher, "another great win for Ipswich & Queensland and a for
the second year a great achievement for our
local race team. It was defiantly a team effort,
and my congratulations to everyone involved".
